Spread over the course of 6 monthly weekends, this touch-centred training offers an opportunity to develop a strong skill base in Contact Improvisation and Contemporary dance technique. It will introduce a vocabulary of touch which we will work with somatically and anatomically, covering themes of listening, gravity, differentiating tone, fluidity, momentum, spirals, fascia and flight. This vocabulary of touch applies to dancing in contact with human and non-human surfaces and includes also methods of recognising boundaries and consent. Some basic CI experience is required.
