Uncertain Terrain was a collaboration between Rosalind Holgate-Smith, a Dance Artist and Janet Ruth Davies, a Documentary Photographer, investigating movement improvisation in Europe’s largest slate quarry, near Llanberris in North Wales. Over 6 months of research the pair shared practice, attempting to reveal their experiences captured through photography and their shared dialogues. The work culminated in three exhibitions featuring images, video and audio recordings, at Trinity Laban in London, at Awol studios in Manchester and Dartington Gallery.
